My Third class experience...

On Wednesday 25th, I had my last class experience with Intermediate level. Well, for the warm up activity I made two groups and then, I gave the students some phrasal verbs.  First, I read them the meaning and students had to choose the correct phrasal verb and paste it on the board, and the group who got more points was the winner.
Well, in this class I developed a lot of exercises so that students could practice more about phrasal verbs. The first one was a true- false activity. The second one was a matching activity. After that, I checked students' answer.
Then, I gave them a reading in which students had to identify all the phrasal verbs. The fourth one was a fill in the blank activity and the last one was a speaking activity and I included questions such as, what time do you get up at the weekend? How often do you eat out? How long does it take you to get ready to leave in the morning? When was the last time you got into trouble? What happened? What do you think is the best age to get married? Why? And so on. In general, I really liked this group because students participated a lot in all the activities.

My Second class experience....

On Wednesday 18th, I had my second class experience with Intermediate level. First, I started the class with a warm up and it was a scrambled activity about comparative and superlative adjectives. After that, I checked students’ answer orally.
In this class, I developed some written exercises and in the first activity the students had to underline the correct comparative or superlative adjective according to the sentences. The second one was a fill in the blank activity; and in the third one the students had to write an appropriate comparative or superlative adjective according to the sentences.
At the end, I developed a speaking activity and it was an interview in which students’ had to answer questions such as, who is the oldest/ youngest/ friendliest/ funniest person in your family?  Who do you think is the most talkative/ hardworking/ quietest student in the classroom? Who do you think is the best soccer player around the world? Why? Who do you think is the most beautiful celebrity? Why? What do you think about living in the countryside or the city? Which one do you prefer and why?
In general, this was a nice class because students participated a lot in all the activities, specially; the teacher and the students enjoyed a lot the last communicative activity because students were very excited telling me the answer.  And I think that it is really important so that they can practice the language.

My first class experience…

I had my first class experience today with Intermediate level. First, I started the class with a warm up activity and I gave students a lyric of a song in which they had to underline all the infinitive verbs that were there. After that, I check students‘ answer, and then we sang the song.

I taught the grammar part about gerunds and infinitives and I also provided students a lot of examples. I used some charts to explain the information so that they could understand better the topic.

After that, I developed some written exercises in order that they could practice more about it. First, I gave them a reading in which they had to underline the infinitive verb or the gerund. Then, I made a fill in the blank activity. At the end, I developed a speaking activity and they discuss some questions related to the topic.

In generally, I really liked this group because most of them were paying attention and they also participated a lot. And In the feedback the teacher told me that she liked the meaningful activity that I presented as a warm up in which students practiced about infinitives. She also liked the way I explained the grammar notes and the way I monitored students. At the end, she told me that my confidence level is great, but I need to be a little bit more active or enthusiastic; and It is kind of difficult for me because my personality is like that and I get pretty serious when I teach, but I am going to try to be a little bit different.
